Travel: From Kuching to KK

So… this was my very first time visiting Sabah, and honestly, my feelings were a bit mixed at the beginning.

I was excited… but also not that excited 😂

Why? Because the flight felt kinda long compared to flying from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur. And to be real—I’m a bit scared of flying high 😭 hahaha. Not the best combo when you’re about to cross the sea.

But let’s be honest… what choice do we have? It’s either a flight or… driving 10+ hours just to reach Kota Kinabalu.

Yeah… I’m out on that one 😂

So flight it is.

Since it was our first time in KK, me and my friend decided to book a driver instead of renting a car straight away.

Honestly, best decision.

We just wanted to observe first—like how the traffic works, what are the do’s and don’ts, how locals drive, and just get familiar with the place. You know, do a bit of “research” for future trips 👀

Who knows… next time we might be confident enough to rent a car and explore on our own.

The highlight of the trip? Definitely Kundasang.

We specifically planned a trip there, and wow… I was NOT ready for how beautiful it would be.

The moment we reached, I was completely amazed by the landscape. The cool air, the green hills, the peaceful vibe—it honestly didn’t feel like I was still in Malaysia. Everything looked so calm and unreal, like something out of a movie.

And I’m not even exaggerating when I say…

I fell in love with Kundasang.

It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, take a deep breath, and just appreciate what’s in front of you. No rush, no noise—just nature doing its thing.

Looking back, even though I started the trip feeling a bit nervous (and scared of the flight 😂), it turned out to be such a memorable experience.

Sometimes, you just need to push yourself a little out of your comfort zone—and it might lead you somewhere unexpectedly beautiful.

Sabah, especially Kundasang… you really left an impression on me.

And I’m pretty sure this won’t be my last visit 😉
